Collingswood Grand Ballroom Wedding Photographer

Collingswood Grand Ballroom Weddings: A photographer’s guide to one of South Jersey’s most beautiful venues

Why couples love Collingswood Grand Ballroom

If you are getting married at Collingswood Grand Ballroom, you picked a venue with real character. Set at 315 White Horse Pike in the historic borough of Collingswood, the ballroom is minutes from Center City Philadelphia and easy to reach from every major highway, which matters more than couples expect once out-of-town guests start booking travel.

The space itself is the draw. Original 1920s detailing, polished cherry wood, a dramatic sweeping staircase, and a wrap-around mezzanine that looks down over the entire ballroom. Next door, the Hurley Mansion, built in 1850, gives you a front porch, gardens, a bright sun porch, and two separate getting-ready suites on different floors.

One detail we wish more venues offered: yours is the only wedding on site that day. No sharing parking, no bumping into another couple’s cocktail hour, no rushing a portrait because a second reception is loading in behind you. For photography, that single policy is worth more than almost any other amenity.

The best photo spots at Collingswood Grand Ballroom

Every venue has three or four locations that consistently deliver. Here are ours.

The sun porch in the Hurley Mansion. The best light in the building, hands down. Big windows, soft and even, no harsh shadows. This is where we shoot getting-ready details, the dress, and portraits of you with your people. If your day is running behind, this is the one spot we protect.

The grand staircase. Two ways to use it. Wide, to show the scale of the room and the railings. Tight, from the mezzanine looking down, for your entrance and your first steps into the reception. It is also the safest bad weather backup for formal portraits.

The mezzanine overlook. The angle that sells the whole venue. Your first dance from above, with the full room, the chandeliers, and every guest in frame. We build ten minutes into the reception timeline to get up there.

The mansion porch and gardens. Green, private, and the most relaxed of the four. Ideal for a first look, family formals, and golden hour portraits. In late spring and summer, this is where the warm, backlit frames come from.

The ballroom after dark. Once the room empties for the night, we bring you back in for two or three quiet frames. Empty ballroom, warm light, just the two of you. It takes four minutes, and it is almost always in the top five images we deliver.

A sample Collingswood Grand Ballroom wedding day timeline

This is a starting point, not a rule. We build a custom timeline with every couple, but it helps to see what a smooth day looks like here.

TimeWhat is happening
12:00 pmGetting ready in the mansion suites, detail photos on the sun porch
1:30 pmInto the dress, first look with a parent
2:15 pmFirst look and couple portraits in the gardens
3:00 pmWedding party and family formals on the porch and staircase
4:00 pmGuests arrive, we hide, quiet moment for you two
4:30 pmCeremony
5:00 pmCocktail hour, remaining family formals
6:00 pmGrand entrance down the staircase, first dance from the mezzanine
6:45 pmDinner, toasts, we eat when you eat
7:30 pmTen minutes outside for golden hour portraits
9:45 pmTwo frames alone in the empty ballroom
10:00 pmLast dance and send off

The one change we recommend most often: do a first look. It moves family formals before the ceremony, gives you cocktail hour back, and takes the pressure off a timeline that has to move between the mansion and the ballroom.

Light and season at Collingswood Grand Ballroom

Spring and summer. Golden hour lands late, roughly 7:30 to 8:15 pm. Step out during dinner for ten minutes and you get the warmest portraits of the day. The gardens are at their best in May and June.

Fall. Sunset comes early and fast, so we move portraits earlier and lean on the sun porch and staircase. October books out first here, so if fall matters to you, ask about dates early.

Winter. This is when the ballroom earns its keep. Warm interiors, chandeliers, the staircase, and the mansion mean a winter wedding here never looks like it is missing anything.

Frequently asked questions

Have you photographed at Collingswood Grand Ballroom before? Yes, we photographed many weddings at this venue.

How early should we book a photographer for our Collingswood Grand Ballroom wedding? Most of our couples book 12 to 18 months out. Saturdays in September, October, and May go first.

Do you offer a second photographer? Yes. At this venue, we recommend it generally. The mansion and the ballroom are separate buildings, and a second shooter means both partners are covered while getting ready.

Can we do our ceremony and reception in the same place? Yes. The venue offers multiple ceremony locations, including outdoors on the mansion grounds, so you can keep your whole day on one property.

What happens if it rains? The staircase, mezzanine, theater, and sun porch give us three strong indoor options. A rainy wedding here still looks like the venue you booked.

Do you travel to Collingswood? Yes, and there is no travel fee. We are based in the Havertown area, and Collingswood is a short drive over the bridge.

How many photos will we receive? We deliver an average of 60-100 photos per hour and deliver within two weeks to a month.

Penn Oaks Golf Club Wedding Photographer

Penn Oaks Golf Club Wedding Photographer

Rolling greens, an Ionic-columned gazebo, and golden light that stretches across the fairway right around cocktail hour. Penn Oaks Golf Club is one of Chester County’s most photogenic wedding venues, and we know exactly where to be when the light gets good.

Why We Love Photographing Weddings at Penn Oaks

Penn Oaks sits on 150 Penn Oaks Drive in West Chester, just a short drive from downtown and the Main Line. The property gives couples something rare: a genuinely elegant ballroom and 100+ acres of open landscape, all in one place. No shuttling guests between a church and a reception hall, and no scrambling for a backup plan when the forecast turns.

For us, that means more time making pictures and less time in transit. It also means variety. Within a ten-minute walk, we can move from the manicured gardens to a quiet stand of trees to the wide-open fairway, and every one of those looks different in camera. Hence why we photographed weddings at Penn Oaks for over 16 years.

The Best Photo Spots at Penn Oaks Golf Club

The gazebo overlooking the course. The classic ceremony spot, and it photographs beautifully from a distance with the greens falling away behind it. We usually place a second shooter down the hill for the wide frame while the first works tight on faces.

The fairway at golden hour. The single best reason to build fifteen minutes of portrait time into your timeline after dinner starts. Long shadows, warm light, and nobody else in the frame.

The ballroom terrace. Great for cocktail hour candids and for that first light on the two of you stepping out after the ceremony.

The Koi Pond. Great for first looks and bride and groom private portraits.

The bridal suite. North-facing window light in the morning, which is about the nicest getting-ready light a venue can offer. Ask your coordinator to keep the space uncluttered, and we will do the rest.

A Sample Penn Oaks Wedding Day Timeline

(Built for a 5:00 PM ceremony, adjust as needed)

  • 1:00 PM Getting ready coverage begins in the bridal suite
  • 3:00 PM First look and couple’s portraits on the grounds
  • 3:45 PM Wedding party and family portraits
  • 5:00 PM Ceremony at the gazebo
  • 5:30 PM Cocktail hour on the terrace, candid coverage
  • 6:30 PM Reception entrance and dinner
  • 7:45 PM Sunset portraits on the fairway, fifteen minutes
  • 8:00 PM Dancing, toasts, and open floor coverage

Penn Oaks runs an all-inclusive operation, which means your coordinator handles most of the moving parts. We work directly with them so the day flows without anyone chasing you around with a shot list.

What Couples Say

Kristin: “Daniel and his team (2nd photographer and videographer) did an excellent job capturing our wedding at Penn Oaks in West Chester. They were organized, on time, and got tons of amazing shots!! Would definitely recommend!”

Katie: “Perfect for a lifetime

Amazing can’t even describe how perfect our experience with Daniel was. Not only are his images off the charts perfect, but his process is also like a well-oiled machine. He has everything meticulously planned so that you do not have to worry about anything. He takes time to get to know the couple ahead of time to make sure he is getting the best responses out of you. And as if that wasn’t all more than enough to make him the best ever, we had our images by the time we got back from our honeymoon. If you are looking for someone to perfectly capture your day for a lifetime of memories to share with future generations, look no further than Daniel Fugaciu.
And seriously, just get the album – worth every penny and more.”

Ashley: “Daniel is an absolute professional who also instills a sense of trust and even friendship from the first meeting. For our first photo session, Daniel was not only super polite and creative, but he was also flexible with time. We were slotted for a couple of hours but ended up going longer. He didn’t rush or pressure us at all. In fact, he didn’t mention the time once.
This being our first photo session, we weren’t sure what to expect or where to take the best shots, but it ended up requiring no work from us. Within seconds of arriving, Daniel was telling us where to stand and how to be positioned for the best possible shots and they turned out incredible. Friends and family were very impressed with his work. Sometimes it may be awkward having to smile at a camera being held by somebody you don’t know very well, but that wasn’t the case with Daniel. We felt like we knew him for a long time because he’s easy to talk to and pretty funny. I highly recommend his services; you will not be disappointed in the slightest!”

Photography and Videography Coverage at Penn Oaks

Every collection includes a second photographer, high-resolution edited images, and an online gallery you can share with family. Videography coverage is available as an add-on and pairs especially well with a venue like this, where the landscape does half the work for you.

Jennifer & Eric’s Engagement Session at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens | Devon, PA Engagement Photographer

There’s something magical about photographing couples surrounded by nature, and Jennifer and Eric’s engagement session at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens in Devon, Pennsylvania was the perfect example. With winding garden paths, colorful blooms, towering trees, and peaceful woodland trails, Jenkins Arboretum created a beautiful backdrop that perfectly reflected their relaxed personalities and genuine connection.

As a Philadelphia wedding photographer, I love photographing engagement sessions in locations that feel timeless and intimate, and Jenkins Arboretum is easily one of my favorite hidden gems on the Main Line.

Why Jenkins Arboretum is Perfect for Engagement Photos

Nestled in the heart of Devon, PA, Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens offers couples an incredible variety of scenery without having to travel far from Philadelphia. Throughout the property you’ll find:

  • Beautiful flowering gardens
  • Charming stone pathways
  • Wooden bridges
  • Native woodland landscapes
  • Open green spaces
  • Seasonal blooms throughout spring, summer, and fall

Every turn provides a different backdrop, making it feel like several locations in one session.

Jennifer and Eric loved the natural setting because it allowed them to simply enjoy being together without feeling like they were posing in front of a crowd. The quiet atmosphere made the session feel relaxed from beginning to end.

A Relaxed and Fun Evening Together

From the moment we started walking through the gardens, Jennifer and Eric were completely comfortable with one another. Rather than focusing on stiff poses, we spent the evening exploring the gardens, laughing together, and letting genuine moments unfold naturally.

Some of my favorite images came from the quiet moments between poses—the way Eric looked at Jennifer, their spontaneous laughter while walking hand-in-hand, and the little smiles they shared when they thought nobody was watching.

These authentic moments are what make engagement photography so meaningful.

Beautiful Natural Light Throughout the Gardens

One of the reasons I recommend Jenkins Arboretum for engagement sessions is the incredible light. As the sun begins to set, the gardens are filled with soft, golden light filtering through the trees.

That evening, the warm sunlight illuminated the flowers and pathways beautifully, giving Jennifer and Eric’s photographs a romantic and timeless feel. The mix of open gardens and shaded woodland trails also provided plenty of variety, allowing us to create images that ranged from bright and airy to intimate and dramatic.

Preparing for Their Wedding Day

An engagement session isn’t just about creating beautiful photographs—it’s also a wonderful opportunity to prepare for the wedding day.

Jennifer and Eric were able to experience what it’s like being photographed together, helping them become more comfortable in front of the camera. By the end of the evening, posing felt completely natural, and they could simply focus on enjoying each other’s company.

This confidence always carries over into the wedding day, resulting in even more relaxed and authentic wedding portraits.

Why I Love Photographing Engagement Sessions

Engagement sessions give couples the chance to slow down during the excitement of wedding planning and celebrate this unique season of life.

Whether we’re exploring a beautiful garden like Jenkins Arboretum, walking through the streets of Philadelphia, or visiting one of Pennsylvania’s many scenic parks, my goal is always the same—to create genuine, joyful images that tell your story.

Jennifer and Eric made that incredibly easy. Their kindness, laughter, and connection were evident throughout the session, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them again on their wedding day.

Planning Your Own Jenkins Arboretum Engagement Session?

If you’re looking for a Jenkins Arboretum engagement photographer or planning engagement photos in Devon, PA, I’d love to help you create a session that feels natural, relaxed, and uniquely yours.

A Classic Philadelphia Wedding at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and Trump National Golf Club

Heather and David’s wedding day was the perfect combination of timeless Philadelphia elegance and luxurious golf club celebration. Their beautiful day began with a traditional Catholic ceremony at the iconic Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul before continuing across the river for a stunning reception at Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia.

As a Philadelphia wedding photographer, I love weddings that showcase some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks while still creating a unique experience for the couple. Heather and David’s wedding did exactly that.

A Beautiful Ceremony at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

The day began at the magnificent Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Center City, Philadelphia. Known for its breathtaking architecture, soaring ceilings, and beautiful altar, the Cathedral provides one of the most stunning ceremony locations in the city.

Family and friends gathered as Heather made her way down the aisle. The grand interior of the Cathedral created an unforgettable backdrop for the couple’s vows. From the beautiful stained glass windows to the historic details throughout the church, every moment felt timeless and meaningful.

The Cathedral Basilica remains one of Philadelphia’s most sought-after wedding ceremony locations, offering couples a truly elegant setting for their wedding day.

Wedding Portraits on Broad Street Philadelphia

The newlyweds looked incredible as we explored the area, taking advantage of the city’s timeless architecture and dramatic cityscape. These portraits blended classic elegance with a modern Philadelphia feel, creating images that will remain meaningful for years to come.

A Stunning Reception at Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia

After portraits in the city, we made our way to Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia for the reception.

Nestled along the Delaware River, Trump National Golf Club offers sweeping views, beautifully manicured grounds, and elegant event spaces that make it one of the premier wedding venues in the Philadelphia area.

Upon arriving at the venue, we spent some time capturing additional portraits around the property. The rolling fairways, scenic river views, and elegant clubhouse architecture created countless opportunities for beautiful wedding photographs.

As the sun began to set, the property offered incredible light for romantic portraits of Heather and David. These moments away from the reception allowed the couple to relax together and soak in the excitement of the day.

Celebrating with Family and Friends

The reception was filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and plenty of dancing. Friends and family celebrated Heather and David throughout the evening, creating an atmosphere that was both elegant and joyful.

From their emotional first dance to the packed dance floor later in the evening, every part of the reception reflected the love and excitement surrounding the newlyweds.

One of the things that makes this venue so incredible for wedding photography is the variety of backdrops available within just a short walk. The property offers tree-lined paths, open fields, historic structures, and beautiful natural light throughout the day.

Fall colors added warmth and depth to Adam and Eric’s portraits. Soft golden tones from the changing leaves created a romantic, cinematic feel across the landscape.

These portrait sessions are often the quietest moments of the wedding day. Away from the celebration, Adam and Eric had a chance to simply walk together, laugh, and take in the reality that they had just gotten married.

Those genuine moments always become some of the most meaningful images from the day.

Romantic Night Wedding Portraits by the Tree Line

Later in the evening, we stepped back outside for night portraits near the tree line.

Night wedding portraits are always worth the few minutes it takes to create them. The contrast between the dark trees and soft lighting created a dramatic, romantic atmosphere for Adam and Eric’s final portraits of the night.

These images felt cinematic and intimate—completely different from the daytime portraits earlier in the day. The quiet moment together allowed them to slow down and fully enjoy the experience before heading back inside to celebrate with their guests.

A Beautiful Same-Sex Wedding at Radnor Hunt

Michelle & Sam’s summer wedding at The Mutter Museum was the perfect blend of refined elegance and one-of-a-kind character. Located in the heart of Philadelphia, this iconic venue offers couples a wedding experience that feels intimate, historic, and completely unforgettable. From their indoor museum ceremony to romantic garden portraits and cinematic night photos with a vintage car, their day was filled with moments that felt both timeless and deeply personal.

As a Philadelphia wedding photographer, photographing a wedding at The Mutter Museum is always an inspiring experience — the textures, light, and architecture create a setting unlike any other venue in the city.

An Intimate Indoor Wedding Ceremony at The Mutter Museum

Michelle & Sam exchanged vows indoors within the museum, surrounded by rich architectural details and the quiet elegance that makes this venue so special. Indoor ceremonies at The Mutter Museum are ideal for couples who want a meaningful, sophisticated atmosphere while remaining protected from summer heat or unpredictable weather.

The soft ambient light and historic interiors provided a beautiful, emotional backdrop for their ceremony — perfect for capturing genuine expressions, quiet moments, and the connection between the couple and their guests. This is one of the reasons Mutter Museum weddings photograph so beautifully: the space itself adds depth and storytelling to every image.

Summer Wedding Portraits in the Mutter Museum Garden

Following the ceremony, we moved into the museum’s private garden for portraits. Tucked away from the surrounding city streets, the garden feels like a hidden oasis in Center City Philadelphia. Lush greenery, seasonal blooms, and filtered summer light made this the ideal location for romantic wedding portraits.

Michelle & Sam’s garden portraits felt relaxed and effortless — a mix of candid laughter and elegant, editorial moments. The garden at The Mutter Museum offers an incredible variety in a small space, which allows couples to stay present with their guests while still receiving a diverse and visually rich wedding gallery.

For couples planning a summer wedding at The Mutter Museum, the garden is one of the most valuable photography locations the venue offers.

Cinematic Night Wedding Portraits with a Vintage Car in Philadelphia

As the evening settled in, we stepped outside for night portraits on the streets of Philadelphia — one of the most visually striking parts of the day. Paired with a vintage car, these nighttime wedding photos brought a cinematic, almost film-like quality to Michelle & Sam’s gallery.

The glow of city lights, reflections on the pavement, and the classic lines of the car created dramatic yet romantic images that perfectly contrasted the softness of the garden portraits earlier in the day. Night portraits like these are an incredible way to elevate a wedding gallery and create images that feel bold, stylish, and completely unique to Philadelphia.

Why The Mutter Museum Is One of Philadelphia’s Most Unique Wedding Venues

The Mutter Museum stands out as one of the most unique wedding venues in Philadelphia for couples who want something beyond a traditional ballroom. With its historic interiors, secluded garden, and prime Center City location, it offers endless creative opportunities for wedding photography — all within one venue.
