Christina & Nick's wedding at Cescaphe | Lowes Hotel

Christina & Nick’s wedding at Cescaphe Ballroom

We started the day at the beautiful Lowes Hotel with Christina and Nick’s getting ready. Our next stop was church for a catholic ceremony followed by photos at Magnolia Garden. Not the most pleasant day to shoot outside, but we rocked the day, humidity and all.

The rest of the party happened at the gorgeous Cescaphe ballroom where Schaffer Sound entertained us with great tunes.

Joe and Maura wedding at Mendenhall Inn

Mendenhall Inn

This is one of those “in the family” weddings, and we can say we did it again, as Dana(MOH) said. And yes I photographed her wedding, so I’m a bit biased. In spite of the heat wave we had for Maura and Joe’s wedding we rocked it in a local abandoned park called Gibraltar Gardens, and we might have been chased out by a neighbor for noise in the end, but it was all worth it. Imagine a full bridal party bus, not drinking water. 😉

Later we joined the beautiful Mendenhall Inn for their reception, and the party was on for a good while. Enjoy their story after the break!

TJ and Megan's wedding at Villa Manor by Brigalias

Tj and Megan chose Villa Manor as their venue of choice for the big day. We started with the girls and guys getting ready, and gathered at church for their beautiful ceremony.

After the formals were done, we played with the super fun and silly bridal party on the grounds of the venue, and we had a blast. The heat was pretty intense that day so we headed inside for refreshments and the reception began shortly after.

Megan’s hair and makeup was done by Creations by Mia and she looked gorgeous.

They danced on beats by DJ from Bentz Entertainment.

Relive their day through the photos along with us.

Tyler Arboretum outdoor wedding | PJ and Tushara

PJ and Tushara chose Tyler Arboretum as their venue of choice for an outdoor ceremony and tent reception, and trust me when I say they were not disappointed. The grounds here are just gorgeous and inviting with a million photo opportunities.  And photos we took all around not forgetting to have fun along the way.

I absolutely loved the choice of music they had Jamie play.

Tushara wore a superb wedding dress by Lian Carlo only to change later into a beautiful Indian outfit along PJ.

Mackenzie was Tushara’s make up artist for the day. Flowers and cake were provided by Jeffrey Miller Catering.

Dianna and Brian's engagement at Philadelphia Museum of Art

Congratulations to Brian and Dianna on their engagement and for winning an engagement session from us!

One of the shows at Sandcastle Winery rewarded  Dianna and Brian with an engagement session at Philadelphia Museum of Art where we roamed the grounds in search of good light.

These two are such naturals, photographing their wedding should be a breeze. Let us know what you think in the comments.

I quote from the art museum’s website: “Discover works of art at one of the largest and most renowned museums in the country. Find beauty, enchantment, and the unexpected among artistic and architectural achievements from the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.”

At Dianna and Brian’s engagement at Philadelphia Museum of Art we did just that, only local.

Tushara and PJ's Engagement at Tyler Arboretum

For the past few weeks I have been checking the daily weather reports, praying that May would give us a nice day for engagement photos instead of snow. Enough with that!  Specifically, the day we had already scheduled a couple months ago!  We weren’t being too picky, right?  Well our prayers were answered and we had a delightful afternoon strolling around Tyler Arboretum, just outside Philadelphia, where the wedding will happen actually,  and we didn’t even need our winter coats! We even found flowers IN BLOOM! Now if we can go ahead and have the same answered prayers for their May 24th wedding, all will be well!

PJ and Tushara, we had a lot of fun hanging out and taking photos with the two of you. Here’s a few of our favorites from your session. Enjoy!

Megan and Tom's engagement at Batsto Village

Meet Megan and Tom!

These love birds live in New Jersey and Megan chose Batsto Village in Hammonton, NJ for the shoot. I had never heard of it before but I am always excited to shoot in different locations. I honestly didn’t have a clue what to expect when I was driving there but when I arrived and saw that it was a wooded park with a big lake, I was pretty excited. This place is a photographer’s dream town!

Megan and Tom were awesome to work with and I am really excited for their wedding this May!! Thanks for spending the afternoon with me!:)

Swarthmore College Engagement with Patricia and Michael

Who said that engagements in the winter don’t look good? Not me! But I digress, this was the second time I shot a Swarthmore College Engagement and I find more and more cool places to shoot at. The grounds here are pretty spread out and some hidden from the beaten path, but Patricia and Michael live close by and knew all the best spots.

Enjoy the photographs!

Here’s a little more info from Swarthmore College’s website:

“Founded in 1864, Swarthmore was one of the earliest coeducational colleges in the United States. The school was organized by a Committee of Quakers from three Hicksite yearly meetings: Baltimore, New York, and Philadelphia. Many of the founders were prominent in the abolitionist and women’s rights movements and other social concerns and included Edward Parrish, Deborah and Joseph Wharton, Benjamin Hallowell, and James and Lucretia Mott. Swarthmore was established to be a college, “…under the care of Friends, at which an education may be obtained equal to that of the best institutions of learning in our country.” By 1906 Swarthmore dropped its religious affiliation, becoming officially non-sectarian.

Today, the college is known for a rigorous intellectual character, shaped by a commitment to social responsibility and the legacy of its Quaker heritage. Ninety percent of graduates eventually attend graduate or professional school, and over twenty percent of graduates attain a Doctor of Philosophy degree in their lifetime, rates among the highest of US institutions.”

Same sex engagement at Waterworks Restaurant

I met Samantha and Vanessa at a bridal show where they won an engagement session from us. They drove all the way from Newark NJ, in a pretty chilly winter day to have us photograph them. And we did have a great session around the Waterworks restaurant and Art Museum area in Philadelphia. Enjoy the photos!

The Fairmount Water Works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was Philadelphia’s second municipal waterworks. Designed in 1812 by Frederick Graff and built between 1812 and 1872, it operated until 1909, winning praise for its design and becoming a popular tourist attraction. It now houses a restaurant and an interpretive center that explains the waterworks’ purpose and local watershed history. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Engagement with Christina and Nick at Longwood Gardens

Being that Philadelphia is under snow for at least one month now, Nick and Christina chose Longwood Gardens as destination for their engagement photography. And what an amazing place this is even in the middle of winter.

We played outside and when the frostbite pinched we ran inside the gorgeous conservatory where Summer feels right at home.

Feel their love through these photographs and leave a comment or two for them after the break.

Joe and Claire's wedding at Valleybrook country club, NJ

Joe and Claire chose Valleybrook country club as their venue of choice for their big day. Although it was New Years Eve and it was freezing cold outside they braved the winds with us like champs.

All the elements came out to play, sun and snow, and we have some beautiful photographs to show for it. We had a first look at Valleybrook and a beautiful ceremony at Saint Patrick’s church.

Everyone was super fun and we had a blast with this wonderful couple!

A little about the venue:

“From the moment you arrive at Valleybrook Country Club, you will know that you have found the ideal setting for your once-in-a-lifetime celebration. From the lush rolling hills to the meticulously maintained fairways, mature trees dot the landscape with an ever-changing color palette that mirrors the seasons. Step inside, and you’ll find an equally beautiful interior that features understated décor, elegant furnishings, ambient lighting, and stellar views of the property through expansive windows.”

Wayne Art Center wedding | Soroush and Sarah

It was a day filled with laughter and this Wayne Art Center wedding
made it a special one for them with the beautiful art all around and the great atmosphere surrounding the place. Sarah and Soroush are one of the sweetest couples I photographed so far. And we even had a special guest appearance by the fire department due to a smoke alarm going off, see photos below. 🙂

Stotesbury Mansion wedding | Frankie and Josette

I’m pretty sure Frankie and Josette got married in the best day of October! They decided to have creatives taken in Rittenhouse Square despite the crowds of people roaming the grounds on such a beautiful day. Then we moved on to the party at Stotesbury Mansion across the street. And it was a blast!

A few words from the Venue’s history, I quote:

“Registered by the Rittenhouse Square Historic District, the Stotesbury Mansion is a historic landmark perfect for hosting your upcoming special event!

Originally a townhouse built in 1897 by architects Cope and Stewardson, the site has been renovated numerous times by a famous English designer, Lord Joseph Duveen, to accommodate and impress the Philadelphia Elite Stotesbury Family’s guests.

Some of the beautiful additions from the initial renovation include a marble entryway, Dolly Madison’s fireplace purchased from the White House, and the fifth floor squash courts. After a second renovation in 1914, the Stotesburys constructed a grand ballroom for .5 million dollars to entertain their affluent guests. They imported a Georgian ballroom that was in the Lord’s manor in England. It took 500 craftsmen over a year to reassemble the ballroom in the townhouse. They imported the crystal Louis XV period chandeliers, the 14th Century Italian marble fireplace, the gold ceiling panels, the Beauvais tapestry that represented abundance hung from the Italian fireplace, and the marble Corinthian columns. The designer’s innovative ideas led to installing an organ and orchestra area also known as the “fiddler’s booth” above the two entrance doors to the ballroom for their private entertainment pleasures. At the entrance to the ballroom, a fountain splashed softly and one could pause for a moment on the small granite benches to enjoy the effect.”

Riverview Country Club wedding | Marc & Kristi

‘Twas a gorgeous day when Kristi and Marc started their own story on the beautiful grounds of Riverview Country Club. We rode golf carts, got rained on with golf balls and had a great time photographing at sunset. But I digress, like one wise man once said, a picture is worth a thousand words – so here’s a dozen for ya’ to keep you busy. 🙂
